How can i tell baby teeth from adult teeth?

i am 11 yrs old, and i have this one loose tooth it%26#039;s a molar. i%26#039;m not sure if it%26#039;s a baby tooth or an adult tooth. i showed my baby sitter (16 yrs old, just to let u know) before and she said it%26#039;s most likely a baby tooth because an adult tooth wouldn%26#039;t be loose unless of an accident, and there%26#039;s no bruise on my face. though i%26#039;m still kinda worried that there%26#039;s a possiblity it may be an adult tooth...i won%26#039;t be relieved of it until i get it clarified for sure that it%26#039;s a baby tooth, not an adult tooth. my next dental appointment is on June 26, but i want to know before then. can you tell me a way i can tell baby teeth between adult teeth just by looking in the mirror or something? i heard somewhere that adult teeth have more roots and stuff above them, and i tried comparing the roots and stuff above my loose teeth with my teeth i know are adult teeth, but i can%26#039;t tell. please help me, needing help from ppl with experience, ppl with just plain knowledge, and of course dentists. -thanks

First of all, if it%26#039;s really loose and you%26#039;re 11, it%26#039;s most likely a baby tooth. You are at the right age to be losing your baby molars. You probably only have 4 adult molars at the very back of your mouth (two on the bottom, two on top). Any molar that is loose in front of those is a baby tooth.
Reply:adult teeth are bigger.
Reply:ask a dentist
Reply:no idea!
Reply:listen to your sitter, sounds like she knows what she is talking about.
Reply:ur 11 and u have a babysitter?!! hahahaha, go to the dentist he%26#039;ll tell you
Reply:it sounds like a baby tooth

if most your teeth are grown up teeth it seems smaller, than its a baby tooth for sure
Reply:baby teeth smaller
Reply:mind over matter buddy

just start thinking it%26#039;s a baby tooth and nothing bad should happen...
Reply:have you ever lost that tooth before? if you have, then it%26#039;s an adult tooth. but since you%26#039;re only 11, it%26#039;s unlikely to have lost it. a lot of adults still have their baby molars because i guess they don%26#039;t really need to come out sometimes. go to the dentist if you%26#039;re that worried about it and see if it%26#039;s an adult tooth or baby tooth.
Reply:Their should be a visible size difference. Adult teeth are usually bigger and baby teeth smaller.
Reply:well adult teeth are bigger but baby teeth can still be big but your tooth should start to get loose or feel like it hurts a bit just so it can make room for the adult teeth hope this helps =)
Reply:Call your family%26#039;s dentist if you%26#039;re worried.
Reply:i%26#039;ve heard that the adult tooth is alot bigger

but idk
Reply:if u lost the tooth b4, then its an adult tooth. if its the same one from when u were a baby, it%26#039;ll come out.
Reply:Hello,

I am 12 years old, and I just want to tell you that I feel your worry. I%26#039;ve experienced this before. Adult teeth are usually bigger. I want to ask you though, have you lost any molars yet at all? If you don%26#039;t know, here is some extra info.

You will also know if it is a baby or adult tooth in a week or two because you will see if the new tooth is poking up or not. Feel your gum to see if you can feel anything poking through. I am also sure that your parent or guardian could call your dentist to have them check on it if you are that worried.

Hope this helped
Reply:There aren%26#039;t any baby molars. What you%26#039;ve got is a loose adult tooth.

It might just be because of your diet or the state of your gums, though. You don%26#039;t have to have an injury for the tooth to be loose.
Reply:Hey, I wouldn%26#039;t worry much about this, it sounds like you are gonna get your twelve-year molars in soon...I am NOT a dentist, but I am a med student, and a Mom..and all of my kids except for one have been through this. Perhaps if you think back to all

your tooth fairy visits, you will remember which teeth you put under your pillow for her. .. betcha I%26#039;m right!
Reply:Is the gum area red or swelled by that tooth? If so you more then likely have an adult tooth coming up.

Look at your molar then your baby sitters. Her molar should be an adult molar and larger.

Hope this puts your mind at ease for tonight..
