Adult with baby teeth?

i still have 2 baby teeth at the age of 23. there weren%26#039;t any adult teeth to back them up so there never fell out. just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what you did when you finally had to have the baby teeth removed.

Adult with baby teeth?
HELLO,

I HAVE SOME PATIENTS WITH THIS EXACT OUTLOOK.

I TELL THEM THAT IF THESE TEETH ARE IN SOUND CONDITION JUST TO MAINTAIN THEM.

I ALSO GIVE THEM THE OPTION OF EXTRACTION AND REPLACEMENT WITH AN IMPLANT OR BRIDGE/

THE CHOICE IS THEIRS.
Reply:I%26#039;m going through the same thing and i%26#039;m 26.

No adult tooth to push out the baby tooth ...dentist told me with good brushing tooth could last 20 years bad brushing it would fall out in maybe 10...that freaked me out so i had them pull the tooth out now and i got braces to close the gap...i figured i%26#039;m at the age where it wouldn%26#039;t look totally weird to have braces than to wait til i%26#039;m older...i recommend getting it over with so you can enjoy your smile later.

3 more months left with braces..good luck
Reply:I know someone who had two places (one on each side of upper jaw) where she should have had adult teeth replacing the baby teeth. One baby tooth stayed in and now she is in her forties with it and it is solid as can be. The one on the other side came out and left a small gap there. When she applied to the Army so that they would pay for medical school, they told her that since she had only 31 teeth she did not pass their physical standards. So they rejected her and she paid her own way in medical school.
Reply:I am 45 and just lost my 2 baby canines. The cheapest way to go would be to get an acrylic partial replacing only those teeth. If you lose one first then it would be very simple to just add on the acrylic partial when you lose the next one. The drawback is that these are basically aesthetic appliances and should not be used for eating. The more costly options are metal partials and fixed bridges. If you have the money go for single implants. These are posts imbedded in your gums replacing only the tooth affected. I currently have 2. They are not cheap.
