Why have'nt my daughters adult front teeth grown in after six months ?

My daughter lost her baby teeth about six months ago and the adult teeth have not yet broken the skin of the gums !!! Her teeth always have and are extremely well cared for so I am a little lost !!! She is seven years old and the other kids at school are starting to notice, which is compounding the problem ! Can anybody offer some me some help ?

Why have%26#039;nt my daughters adult front teeth grown in after six months ?
Sometimes the adult teeth are just a little slow at making their way in. Sometimes the tissue can be a little tough and impede their movement. If this is the case a simple cutting of the gums may allow them to erupt in quickly. Have your dentist assess them.

my grandson had all 4 upper anteriors extracted when he was three, at age 7 the permanent ones were not in yet, my dentist/boss had to help them along
Reply:this happened to my little cousin he lost one of his front teeth and it didn%26#039;t grow in after 2 years. this was because his teeth were soft.

maybe thats why.

does your child get cavities easily or has a lot?

[[ if so its soft teeth ]]

I got a ton of teeth pulled and the adult ones aren't coming up, so they might have to pull them up surgically

I%26#039;ve already gotten my teeth pulled, but since the adult teeth aren%26#039;t coming up by themselves, the orthodontist might have to surgically pull the adult teeth up...has anyone ever had this happen? what do they do and is it painful?

I got a ton of teeth pulled and the adult ones aren%26#039;t coming up, so they might have to pull them up surgically
It is called a surgical exposure...You would have to go to an oral surgeon and they would make a small cut in your gums to expose the tooth and then place a bracket and a chain on the tooth so that your orthodontist would then be able to move the tooth down. When you are having this done you will be either numb or put to sleep. After-wards you will be a little bit sore but it will not be unbearable. Good luck!
Reply:I%26#039;m not sure how long or when you had your teeth pulled, but I had 12 teeth pulled when I was around 3rd grade all the way up to 5th grade. They didn%26#039;t start coming in untill late 5th grade and 6th grade. Which was about 3 years for most of them. Please get a second opinion if you think this operation is being done too soon. Give them at least a year to grow in. I hope everything goes alright. good luck

How Long does it take for adult teeth to grow?

I just got two [baby] teeth pulled. And I meant to ask the dentist, but I forgot too.. So I was just wondering how long it takes for the adult teeth to come in? is it a long time? I mean I%26#039;ve lost teeth before.. But I never really payed attention to how long it took for new teeth to come in.. And I Don;t know if it makes a difference or not that they were pulled.. Will that make it take longer? or does it not matter?

Thanks for the help.

How Long does it take for adult teeth to grow?
There are different ages that eruption of the permanent dentition occurs. Some start earlier but most have one or two central incisors by 6 yrs old, then they gradually are losing and erupting through out the years until around 12 years old when the 2nd molar erupts. Thus the reason the 2nd molar is called the 12 year molar. That is usually the last tooth that most people have erupt on their own. The 3rd molar, more commonly referred to as the wisdom tooth is sometimes extracted before eruption due to impaction, lack of room in the mouth, and sometimes it%26#039;s just simply not there. It is the problem tooth in almost all cases. It usually erupts around 17-25 years of age.
Reply:well it depends on ones body!

It could take a long time but nothings wrong because our bodies not the same!!
Reply:Well, the range is broad depending on which tooth. Take a look at the link below.

Starting around the 7th year of age to the 25th year of age.

I know baby teeth start to form long before baby is born. When do adult teeth begin to form?

My question is related to %26#039;Dental Fluorosis%26#039;. I am wondering since when we should be very careful about the intake amount of fluoride to not to affect the adult teeth of a kid.

If baby teeth are affected by %26#039;Dental Fluorosis%26#039;, this doesn%26#039;t mean that the adult teeth are going to be affected automatically, right?

I know baby teeth start to form long before baby is born. When do adult teeth begin to form?
When a baby is born they have 44 teeth in some stage of development. 20 are their baby teeth, and the other 24 are part of their adult dentition. During childhood the other 8 adult teeth form.
Reply:Well, the adult teeth start to form when the child is between 4-7 years old. When the baby tooth falls out then the adult tooth will start to push through. But it might take a while depending on how much pressure the baby tooth is pushed out. For example, if the baby tooth is punched out the adult tooth could take a up to a year to fully grow in.

My pediatric detist said I was born with week teeth and that some adult teeth grew in flakey, whats it mean?

I stopped going to him when i was 18 because he couldnt do anything for me as an adult, i wound up going to see one oral surgeon to have an adult tooth pulled because it was %26quot;bad%26quot;, Im now 22 and am having some trouble with my adult teeth and wisdom teeth they all tend to hurt me when i eat cold or hot foods and i somtimes think they are soft, i have a dental appointment with a new dentist and am worried he will think i have been taking poor care of my teeth when I was told my teeth were grown in in a crappy condition. Is flakey a real term, and is it possible to have all dental work done by an oral surgeon, like cavities and stuff i freak at the dentist.

My pediatric detist said I was born with week teeth and that some adult teeth grew in flakey, whats it mean?
I can%26#039;t really answer your question fully, but I do think you might want to check on the dangers of flouridation (tooth pastes and drinking water). You can type in flouride in any Search Engine search box and get to web sites with lots of interesting information. Flouride occurs naturally at an extremely low level in our environment, and in this natural form and in the low doses it is beneficial and easily assimilated by the body. But flouridation is a totally different kettle of fish.

I have always taken very good care of my teeth but am the victim of flouride pills throughout my early school years. My teeth have cuts and holes right through, which have become worse and worse over the years. I was told that within the next ten or so years I%26#039;ll probably not even be able to get any more fillings, as the drilling always takes a little more of my teeth. Then it%26#039;ll be dentures I suppose (poor me, granny).

Some dentists will reject the idea of flouride damage out of hand. Others have a much broader view, like my dentist in Germany, who had a very open mind and recognised my problem for what it was right away.

This may be a shot in the dark, but it never hurts to check.

Hot and cold pain can be caused by prolonged exposure of the nerves in the teeth. How about sweet or sour or salty?
Reply:To answer your question about the oral surgeon doing all your work the answer is no. They certainly know how to do it as they completed dental school just like a general dentist but continued their education to specialize in facial and head%26amp;neck surgeries only. There are many great dentists out there that can treat your problems and offer you a sedative for your dental anxiety. Some are even qualified to perform concious sedation. Just ask about it when you call to set an appt. You can request your records from your Pediatric Dentist and take them to the new one if you would like. As for the teeth being %26quot;flakey%26quot;, he probably used that term to make it easier to understand. What you have is likely a condition called hypocalcification which is not caused by flouride. Good luck.

When do adult teeth come in a childs mouth?

my baby is three, i was just wondering when i should expect him to get adult teeth pushing through? is it a set age ? etc

When do adult teeth come in a childs mouth?
At 5-6 years of age you will notice the 2 bottom front teeth pop through called the permanant mandibular central incisors and the 6yr molars also called the permanent first molars which erupt in all four quadrants of a child%26#039;s mouth (upper right, lower right, etc.) behind the last baby tooth in each quadrant called a 2nd year molar or a deciduous 2nd molar. Get sealants on the permanent molars as they erupt if no decay is present.

Reply:Around 5-6 I believe.
Reply:no set age..they are the teeth that come in after the first ones fall out.
Reply:Starting around kindergarten age,he will lose his teeth front to back for many years--through adolescence.
Reply:the first adult tooth to erupt into the mouth is called the %26quot;6-year molar.%26quot; It is so cleverly called this because it erupts predictably around the age of 6. The lower %26quot;6-year molars%26quot; come in first. After those, the eruption pattern is much more variable. The first adult molar will erupt behind your child%26#039;s last baby molars on both sides of the lower jaw. The lower and upper incisors will follow. Of course, your child has to loose his baby teeth during these eruptions.

Antibiotics hurt adult teeth in children?

Has anyone heard that Antibiotics as a child can hurt or weaken adult teeth?

If so do you have links to info on this?

Antibiotics hurt adult teeth in children?
To answer your question, there are no known antibiotics that will hurt or weaken a child%26#039;s teeth. However, side effects such as intrinsic staining (within teeth) can result from antibiotic such as tetracycline. These stains are not commonly found in children anyone since doctors are aware of the potential side effect. Also tetracycline will not effect teeth that are already erupted.
Reply:Tetracycline will. It makes your adult teeth darker. Look up side effects of tetracycline.
Reply:Only tetracycline antibiotic. When given to a child who is forming adult teeth it will cause a black, permanent stain on the child%26#039;s adult teeth. It doesn%26#039;t necessarily hurt or weaken the teeth, just causes a horrible stain. The stain is permanent and cannot be whitened. The only way to get rid of it is haveing veneers placed over.

4 Loose Adult Teeth?

I have a eleven-year-old daughter who has 4 loose adult teeth. They aren%26#039;t very loose but they do move slightly. Is there anything that I, or a dentist can do to prevent them from falling out?

4 Loose Adult Teeth?
Teeth all wiggle SOMEWHAT, if you look closely enough. An 11 year old will have teeth that are still erupting into the mouth. If you check those teeth, it is normal for them to be looser than the others. Just don%26#039;t keep checking it or you will cause problems. You say, %26quot;they aren%26#039;t very loose,%26quot; so I%26#039;m basing my answer on that information.
Reply:the dentist can best answer that for you,.When was the last time your daughter visited the dentist?
Reply:when i was younger i had an adult tooth i could wiggle but not too much....its not a big deal dont worry about it

What makes adult teeth move?

what makes adult teeth move/seperate

What makes adult teeth move?
1.The removal of one tooth. That causes the others to shift.

2. Drug abuse. This causes the teeth to rot and fall out, causing the shift in other teeth.

3. Decay. The rotting of teeth are dangerous and has many side effects. Heart disease and poisoning are just a few.
Reply:There%26#039;s really only one reason. Teeth will shift is there%26#039;s room for them to do so. Why there is room for them to shift is another question.

Gum disease. It can be responsible for your losing most if not all of your teeth.

Reply:If you have lost teeth or had any pulled and there are gaps in your mouth, the teeth will move to fill them in. That is why it is important to have lost teeth replaced with crowns or caps or bridges.

My top front 2 adult teeth are loose, What should i do???????

I%26#039;ve had braces for well over a year now, and about a month ago i noticed my front top 2 teeth were wiggling. i%26#039;m going to go to my orthadonist this friday just to get everything checked out, but i want to get feedback from some of you fellow guys just to make me know what im dealing with. I know this sounds ridiculous but im frightened im going to loose my front two adult teeth. Are my teeth going to strengthn or just stay like that for the rest of my life???? Thanks!!!!

My top front 2 adult teeth are loose, What should i do???????
i always think my teeth a loose. i have this weird thing about my teeth. for years i thought they were loose, but your roots are way long into your gums and into your head. if you move your teeth with your finger, your tooth int moving its actually the fat in your finger moving, but you think its your tooth.

plus Ive been saying my teeth are loose for over 5 years no9w and they haven%26#039;t fall-in out yet!
Reply:Definitely ask the orthodontist about this. Depends on how much they are wiggling. they may needed to be splinted (glued together with wire) for a time...depends on the serverity again.

Does dental fluorosis in milk teeth continue to adult teeth?

My daughter is nearly three years old. We brush her teeth every night as part of her bed-time routine with a pea-sized amount of Colgate %26quot;Smiles%26quot; toothpaste for 2-6 yr olds. She likes brushing her teeth and does it enthusiastically with me supervising, and then I usually %26quot;finish off%26quot; for her - that is, brush all the bits that she%26#039;s missed or barely touched.

I%26#039;ve noticed over the last week that the top of her front, top teeth (the part nearest the gum) is starting to look mottled and yellowed. I%26#039;m wondering if this could be dental fluorosis? We live in an area with fluoridated water, and try as I might, I simply cannot stop my daughter from sucking the toothpaste off the brush, so I%26#039;m concerned her fluoride intake might be higher than recommended levels.

I%26#039;m aware that if it IS dental fluorosis it%26#039;s irreversible, but of course, these are only her baby teeth. My question is, when she gets her adult teeth through in 3 years or so, will they also be damaged?

Does dental fluorosis in milk teeth continue to adult teeth?
Fluoride can and does affect adult teeth as they are forming. It makes them much more resistant to dental decay.

Whether or not the adult teeth are being affected to the point they are developing fluorosis is difficult to say. Your dentist should be able to advise you better as to whether too much fluoride is beig taken in.

I understand your concerns. I myself used to be a dentist and my daughters milk teeth came early and her front incisor adult teeth ame through when she was only three and a half - early (most kids don%26#039;t get adult front teeth until around 6).

The front adult teeth are developing from the age of about 6 months,( if I remember correctly). This is the time that they are most susceptible to getting fluorosis - ie when developing rater than in the mouth. Whilst the mottling that comes with fluorsis can%26#039;t be %26quot;cured%26quot; there are treatment options available - not all of which are expensive, and most involve minimal use of the drill.

I really would be a bore and advise you to take your daughter along to see your dentist so that he can make a diagnosis as to what the marks on your daughter%26#039;s teeth are. The marks could have been caused by any number of thing s from a fall, to childhood illness or even your health during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Good luck and hope you get some peace of mind.
Reply:This really sounds like something you need to ask your dentist and have checked out by him or her so you can know exactly what it is, how it needs to be treated, and have all your questions answered. If you are looking for quick answers, you might try webmd.com. Good luck, and I hope it%26#039;s nothing serious.
Reply:It sounds like your daughter%26#039;s hygiene routine is on the mark. The paste that you are using and the amount is appropriate along with your brushing as well (you should brush all of them and do this until at least age 7 due to lack of dexterity and (sometimes) interest on their part).

I think what you are seeing is probably plaque buildup and would suggest that you rub a toothpick gently at these areas to see if it is soft debris. Even as a hygienist I will do this with my son. I brush with him and even use my electric toothbrush with him on low speed. He loves it! Kids always love to suck the toothbrush so don%26#039;t beat yourself up about it!

Other issues to consider - is she drinking fluoridated juices or water regularly, is she taking a fluoride supplement? If the answers are no it is unlikely that she will have fluorosis on the adult teeth. Fluorosis on baby teeth does not mean it will be present in the adult dentition. Sometimes white spotting of the teeth can be caused by other issues, like trauma of a baby tooth causing damage to the adult tooth bud.

Hope that helps!

Would my puppy's baby teeth fall out as the adult teeth settle in?

I have a maltese-shih tzu mix puppy that%26#039;s about 4 months old and I found out recently that he%26#039;s adult teeth are growing in. His adult teeth are growing behind the two front baby teeth and I%26#039;m worried that the baby teeth might not fall out in time and cause a huge problem later on. I think it might be wiggling right now but I am not sure of that either. Is it too early to worry?

Would my puppy%26#039;s baby teeth fall out as the adult teeth settle in?
I%26#039;ve had three shih tzus. The first two lost their baby teeth when the permanent ones came in. The third shih tzu decided to be different. Her baby teeth did NOT fall out. It didn%26#039;t cause her any problems but I was afraid that there would be too much crowding in her little mouth and that it would cause dental problems in the future. I just had the vet pull the baby teeth when I had her spayed. The vet says that while it is pretty rare, some of the smaller breeds do retain their baby teeth when the adult ones come in. It%26#039;s not a big deal to have them pulled.
Reply:Puppy teeth start falling out approx 14-16 weeks of age, and are replaced by adult teeth.. This can take many months til they are all replaced by adult teeth.
Reply:They probably will, but you may want to call your vet.Get a professional opinion.
Reply:If his baby teeth don%26#039;t fall out properly, the vet will want to take them out when he gets neutered in 2 months. Next time you%26#039;re in for his shots, have the vet take a look. He should be having his last round of vaccs any day now, no?
Reply:give him some help...try and wiggle out the teeth. i let my chihuahua%26#039;s just grow in [her baby teeth fell out], but now she has crooked teeth in the front. my poor baby. it%26#039;s kinda cute though, makes her look mean...for a chihuahua. lol.
Reply:You want to consult your vet on this. They may need to do some extractions if the teeth don%26#039;t fall out on their own within the next few months.
Reply:Yes they will fall out all on thier own. We would randomly hear a %26quot;clink%26quot; on the kitchen floor and the puppy would be looking down trying to lick up the tooth. Just make sure you get them from the dog before they swallow them. And yes, 4 months is too early to worry about that. Ours didn%26#039;t fall out until I would say 5-6 months.
Reply:Most of the time they do fall out, but some need to be pulled.
Reply:Most puppies and kittens have a full set of adult teeth by 6 months of age. I wouldn%26#039;t worry until then. If at 6 months of age, he still had deciduous (baby) teeth crowding his adult teeth, the Vet can pull them @ the same time he is neutered. There is usually a additional fee (approx $15-$35) per tooth. If left intact, they can cause problems later on, so if they don%26#039;t fall out on their own, you definitely will want to have them pulled. This is not uncommon and nothing to be alarmed about.
Reply:with small dogs not all of the baby teeth come out on their own, I went to show a 6 month old havanese and found 4 double sets of teeth, he had them all pulled the next week- talking to breeders of other small breeds they find this all the time. So give your pup something semihard to chew on, keep an eye on those stubborn teeth and if they are still there in a month, not moving, see the vet.
Reply:the baby teeth should fall out when the adult teeth grow in. but it is still too early to tell. if you think it will be a problem, go to the vet and they will remove them. dogs teeth are not connected to roots so it is not the same as a dentist pulling our teeth.
Reply:It%26#039;s not too big of a deal. The same thing happened with my brussels griffon. For a while he looked like a shark with 2 sets of teeth in some places. They eventually fell out when he chewed on bones. Give your dog some dental bones, they help. One of two toow almost a year to fall out but they eventually did. The vet wanted to charge me all of this money to pull his baby teeth but they really pose no threat, and they do eventually fall out.
Reply:take your dog to the vet sometime they need to have the baby teeth pulled . I know that my male chihuahua had to have one baby tooth pulled and the root on that sucker was huge and the vet told me that it is not uncommon for some breeds to have to have their baby teeth pulled . good luck .

My teeth have been yellow since i had adult teeth, HELP?

my teeth were white when they were baby teeth, however when my adult teeth came in they were yellow, my doctor told me it might because of medicine during an early age, does any of those whitening products work for me? strips, mouthwash, toothpaste? how bout those hydrogen peroxide and baking soda stuff? or should i just go straight to the dentist do those laser whitening? thanks a bunch!

My teeth have been yellow since i had adult teeth, HELP?
Yellow teeth are caused by a number of things. Smoking is one, drinking a lot of coffee is another and having too much calcium in your diet can cause your teeth to yellow. I would start with the cheapest solutions first and then work your way up to professional treatments. First get the whitening toothpaste and try the whitening strips. If over a two month period of time that doesn%26#039;t make a noticeable difference move up to professional laser treatment or you may even want to consider verniers. Verniers are porcelain caps that go over your teeth. Those can be expensive but totally worth it in the end for your teeth will appear to very white and perfectly straight. It is what all the movie stars have. Washing your mouth out with Hydrogen Peroxide while perfectly safe if you use it too much it will actually start weaking the enamal on your teeth. You can use the Hydrogen Peroxide say once a week but, no more than that. But, start cheap for sure and see what happens. If not then go and get the laser treatments or splurge and go for the Verniers. Ok, I hope this helps and keep on smiling.
Reply:I use the mouthwash

The results aren%26#039;t perfect for me. My lower front teeth seem to be permanently discolored.
Reply:try the laser whitening it is immediate and you know it will work for sure.
Reply:try these products first and get back to us
Reply:get it whitened!! or maybe you just have to brush your teeth often!
Reply:go to the doctor and get them done

so you don%26#039;t have to wait for the results :D
Reply:Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth!

For home remedies.

Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.

Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.

Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.

Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.

If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here%26#039;s something for you!

Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night

One of my adult teeth are loss!!?

One of my teeth in front is loss and its an adult tooth!I think its because i keep messing around with it but its like a habit! My mom keeps telling me to stop wiggling my tooth but i cant! Its only a tiny bit loss but i dont want to loss it,im only 14!I dont know what to do!

One of my adult teeth are loss!!?
Leave it alone. You may want to try using baking soda on it. It always helped my mom. Just pack a little soda around the tooth gently. Just until you see a dentist. Brush gently and use a good fluoride toothpaste.
Reply:leave it alone and go talk to your dentest about it. Or maybe even a doctor. Mabey you have a mental disorder and its a nervous tendency.
Reply:Try to figure out why u do it and when you do it what are you thinking of?That might make you nervous. At your next dentist appointment the dentist will put that stuff that strengthens your teeth on. its the stuff that makes u no eat or drink for an hour.I think it might make that tooth stuck in more but im not sure. Hope i helped!!!
Reply:Do not mess with it, But if it does fall out immidietaly stick it back in were it goes in your mouth ( sounds grose ) and rush to a dentist, if you can, get a root conail ( no idea how to spell ) and it will tighten your tooth so it wont be lose , and it will most likely life again! DONT FORGET if it falls out stick it back were it belongs , if it touches the ground dip in Milk!
Reply:I had a tooth that felt loose for a little while and my dentist told me that it was no big deal. He said just be a little more gentle when brushing and DONT wiggle it, LOL! Another thing that could be causing or adding to the problem is any sort of plaque build up or bacteria. Use mouthwash regularly and brush genlty like I said...

AND STOP WIGGLING UR TOOTH :-)
Reply:a loose tooth could be a sign of bone loss in the bone that holds the tooth in place -- you might want to have the dentist take an x-ray to see if this is the case. if you lose too much bone around the tooth, it will eventually fall out. try to leave it alone until you can see a dentist; a small amount of movement on teeth is normal, but a lot of movement could be signs of a problem.
Reply:Probly should get it looked at soon. I had that too when I was 14 but it was all of my front teeth. I never said nothin cuz I thought it would just go away but it got worse instead. I couldn%26#039;t stop messing with mine either and the looser they got the more I kept wiggling them. I know it was only making them looser faster but I just couldn%26#039;t help it. I would catch myself wiggling them when I was watching TV or doing homework or whatever. Anyway, finally a couple of my front teeth came out and I ended up losing them all cuz I had bone loss around my teeth. I didn%26#039;t even know it. I mean everything looked ok to me, but the dentist told me and my mom that it was too late to save my teeth and they all had to go so now I don%26#039;t have any. I%26#039;m saving up to get some fasle teeth now. Oh BTW I%26#039;m 16 so don%26#039;t think it can%26#039;t happen cuz you%26#039;re young. That%26#039;s what I thought too.

I think I have a loose adult tooth or teeth?

I%26#039;m 14 turning 15 now and I think I have all adult teeth. About a few days ago my tooth was feeling funny. My dentist appointment isn%26#039;t until this upcoming March. I%26#039;m also a girl, which means no boy will want me if I have teeth missing. Not cute at all. I also brush my teeth every night. Everytime I bite something my teeth hurts.

Are there any procedures to import the tooth back in the place it fell out? Have all my baby teeth come out? Does this happen to some teens? Is this part of puberty? Please tell me. I hopt I don%26#039;t have cavities. I don%26#039;t eat that much junk or anything.

I think I have a loose adult tooth or teeth?
It could be several things! If the tooth is not loose, it probably isn%26#039;t coming out. Try to wiggle it a little. If it doesn%26#039;t budge, you probably aren%26#039;t about to loose it. I can%26#039;t tell you if you%26#039;ve lost all your baby teeth or not. It may be a cavity if it hurts when you bite down. You could be biting too hard! This is not a part of puberty! Should the tooth fall out, there are several options to replace it, but I really don%26#039;t think this is what%26#039;s going on here. Set up a dentist appointment and see have him take a look at it. In the mean time, don%26#039;t eat on that side of your mouth!
Reply:where is the tooth? is it in the front, back, side, top or bottom. That has a lot to do with it...Teeth move and grow and that can have an overall effect on your teeth...Wiggle it to see if it moves...If its loose it will have to be extracted and you will get a partial or an implant...what is your family history? Ask your family if they have ever experienced the same thing - it may be genetic. Call your dental office and explain that you have an emergency and your appt is not until march and they can refer you to an associated dentist..
Reply:It could be a baby tooth. Some people retain baby teeth later than others and don%26#039;t always know it. Don%26#039;t worry, I have never seen anyone lose an adult tooth b/c it became loose unless it has a large hole/cavity. If it is hurting, call and see if they can get you in sooner to check the tooth.

my front adult teeth are wiggly. is that normal? m getting braces within a year, and do not have my wisdom teeth yet.

My front adult teeth are a bit wiggly. is that normal?
All of our teeth are (very slightly) wiggly. If your front teeth are more wiggly than any other teeth in front of your mouth, then I would say that that%26#039;s not normal at all. You should definitely go see visit your dentist about that. I%26#039;m guessing that your teeth are moving too quickly in your mouth.
Reply:No, it is not normal. You should go to the dentist and have them checked.
Reply:Mine were off and on for a while. I think you%26#039;ll be fine. Teeth adjust in your mouth a lot so they will be wiggly once and a while!
Reply:HELLO,

IN HEALTHY ADULT TEETH THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A VERY SLIGHT MOVEMENT. THIS IS NORMAL. IF YOUR ORTHODNTIST KNEW YOU HAD GUM DISEASE WITH VERY, VERY WIGGLY TEETH YOU WOULDN%26#039;T HAVE BRACES....
Reply:Gum Disease is the major cause of loose teeth.

The gums and supporting bone are destroyed.

Loose teeth and receding gums are a symptom of gum disease.

However I had braces back in the day and my teeth still move ever so slightly.

Please see your dentist for a checkup

How loose can adult teeth get before they can't be saved?

My cousin is 13 years old and she has quite a few loose teeth mostly in front. She has all of her adult teeth and she said she noticed they were a little loose about 6 months ago but she keeps messing with them and wiggling them with her fingers and her tongue. I told her to quit messing with them or they%26#039;ll get so loose they%26#039;ll be falling out, but she don%26#039;t believe me and won%26#039;t listen. Her mom keeps telling her to leave them alone too but she won%26#039;t. Now some are so loose they move a couple mm%26#039;s with just a little tongue pressure. Her mom told her if her she ruins her teeth and they fall out she%26#039;ll just have to go toothless but it doesn%26#039;t seem to be sinking in. How loose can her teeth get before they can%26#039;t be saved? Is she headed for dentures already at her age?

How loose can adult teeth get before they can%26#039;t be saved?
OMG, tell her to get to a dentist quick!! AND quit fiddling with her loose teeth it will only make them looser faster. It might not be too late to save at least some of her teeth. Something like that happened to me and I didn%26#039;t think anyting of it at first cuz they were only a little loose and I figured it would go away on its own. It didn%26#039;t and my teeth kept getting looser then my front teeth started falling out and I ended up losing all my teeth. She%26#039;s pretty young to be havin that happen but if they%26#039;re that loose she%26#039;s probly gonna start losin them real soon.
Reply:She should be going to the dentist every six months. A dentist can answer that question. If her parents don%26#039;t care that she%26#039;ll loose her teeth, I seriously don%26#039;t think they will go to the expense of dentures. It%26#039;s a shame when parents don%26#039;t take care of their children%26#039;s teeth.
Reply:Hopefully these are baby teeth. But if they are not, she needs to see a dentist ASAP. I have never heard of someone as young as 13 having loose teeth, being adult teeth. One of the reasons that could cause this is bad oral hygiene. Meaning, if shes not brushing/flossing and getting her teeth cleaned every 6 months, she could have some kind of gum disease. Which in the later stages causes bone loss, and therefore your teeth get loose because the root of the tooth has nothing to hold on to. I would ask her if her gums bleed or ever hurt her as well. Please tell her to get to a dentist, because once you have gum disease (with bone loss) or loose teeth, there is no way to reverse it. Good Luck!
Reply:If her teeth are loose they are eventually going to fall out. There is nothing that could fix loose teeth. You have to floss and brush your teeth every day and see a dentist every six months or this is what happens. She probably will be forced to wear dentures before too long if it is as serious as you say.
Reply:I%26#039;m not a dentist but it sounds like she should start getting used to the idea of gumming her food. If her teeth are that loose for as long as you say they%26#039;re proabaly going to fall out or have to be pulled out before very long. If she keeps moving them around they%26#039;ll never tighten up if it%26#039;s even possible they could. She%26#039;ll probably be toothless or wearing dentures before very long I%26#039;m afraid.
Reply:well, at 13 she should have all of her adult teeth. as for them being loose, roots develope slowly after the crown part of the tooth. if she keeps bothering them, she could cause resortption of the developing structure and cause permanent damage. have you taken her to the family dentist about this? she first needs to have them examined and xrayed,. they may recommend some form of orthodontics (braces) to stabalize the teeth until all is developed. there are bars that can be cemented on the tongue side of teeth (no one can see them this way) to stabalize teeth. another concern is the rare occurance of childhood periodontal disease, it is rare but without seeing her, i cant say for sure. just take her to the dentist.
Reply:I don%26#039;t know if its too late to save them or not but it sounds bad to me. If her teeth move that much so easy it%26#039;s probly too late to save them. What happened? She get hit in the mouth, or just not take care of her teeth or what? No matter what happened I think she won%26#039;t have to worry about them much longer cuz they%26#039;ll be falling out. Even if she gets to a dentist quick there might not be too much they could do to save them that would really work. Like they say, %26quot;No garantees%26quot;.

She/or you, need to read this. I am an adult with two loose teeth that are almost back to being totally tight, and I have only used this for a little over 2 months. It is hard not to mess with your teeth when they are loose! Be glad it is not you........

My son's adult teeth are coming in and one of his baby teeth is still there.?

I%26#039;ve spoken with his dentist in January, he said keep wiggling it. Well, we have and it hasn%26#039;t loosened at all!! It is now March and his adult tooth is almost fully in and crooked because the baby tooth is in the way. She told us not to worry that the tongue would push it into place....are you kidding? If that were true noone should have crooked front teeth then... HELP!

My son%26#039;s adult teeth are coming in and one of his baby teeth is still there.?
I had this exact same thing happen to me and my bottom, front four teeth are all malpositioned. It doesn%26#039;t bother me because they aren%26#039;t that crooked, but most people in this day and age will want/need orthodontics to correct them.

Your dentist isn%26#039;t entirely wrong..your tongue can help shift teeth after a period of time (just like braces) but I wouldn%26#039;t think they%26#039;d be shifted completely straight by the tongue.
Reply:This happened to me as a child as well. My dentist had to pull a couple of my baby teeth because they wouldn%26#039;t just come out. I would maybe see a different dentist, just to get a second opinion.
Reply:need find new dent
Reply:You should take him to an oral surgeon for those primary teeth to be extracted. They are affecting the way his adult teeth are positioning. He will most likely need braces if this is not corrected.
Reply:Your dentist should have pulled the baby tooth out when you seen his adult tooth was coming in. I would find another dentist and get it fixed right away.

Wobbly adult teeth?

I%26#039;ve lost all my baby teeth, one of my adult teeth are wobbly, what could cause this?

lack of brushing maybe?

Wobbly adult teeth?
Yes, lack of brushing could of caused this... unless someone hit you in the mouth.
Reply:has anyone punched you in the mouth lately?
Reply:weak gums...go to the dentist
Reply:If an adult tooth is loose its most likely trauma or bone loss.If you%26#039;ve hit your mouth on something or fell that could be the reason. If not when you have bone loss it causes the teeth to loosen its like having a fence post in the ground if you dont have something solid to hold it in place it gets loose and eventually comes out.You may have a bone defect if its one tooth or you may have it on other teeth also. You should go to your dentist they may refer you to a periodontist for an evaluation. It only gets worse if not addressed.Good luck!

Some adult teeth never came in for my toy poodle?

She had 2 canine teeth removed because the adult came in next to them. While brushing her teeth I noticed a gap between molars and canine on bottom jaw. Hate to go to vet for this only. They%26#039;d probably advise implants or something. s this serious? She%26#039;s one year.

Some adult teeth never came in for my toy poodle?
NO definately not!! It may be in her line of breeding that she may be missing those teeth. Next time you have a check up at the vet then have him check her out as to make sure there are no problems with her teeth!!
Reply:I don%26#039;t know but if she can eat she is probaly fine just call teh vet and ask no reason to take her in.
Reply:This happens sometimes. It is a fault in her breeding. She will not have any problems with eating at all. The next visit to your vets mention it to him or her. It is not necessary to make a special trip.

My parents bred and showed toy poodles and it just happens some times.

My adult teeth came through yellow and so have my childrens is there anything i can do?

mine and my childrens adult teeth have come through yellow they look awful we all look afterour teeth do not smoke or do anthing to stain them

My adult teeth came through yellow and so have my childrens is there anything i can do?
Try Crest white strips it really brightens up your teeth. I use them all the time and the dentist swears that I had my teeth professionally whitened.
Reply:Both of daughters have this problem. I asked the dentist and he said that it%26#039;s just their color. It%26#039;s has nothing to do with intake/or lack of intake of anything. He suggested using a whitener.
Reply:U have to do a bit of bleaching , an intrinsic type of bleaching that would cause the tooth to brighten up from the inside , that needs professional help of course , you cant do it on your own ..

difference between adult and baby tooth

baby tooth are smaller,whiter...all of them should exfoliate at around 12 years of age
Reply:I am a RDH. licensed in two states.. You have 20 primary teeth - sometimes called deciduous or milk teeth, because they are so white. They usually exfoliate by age12. But, it is not impossible that you may not have lost all your baby teeth even by 15. Usually at this age you have 28 teeth. This includes 2 front teeth (centrals), 2 Laterals (next to the center ones), 2 canines, 2 premolars or sometimes called bicuspids and 2 molars. These are on each arch (upper %26amp; lower) so you should have 28 teeth. Then around 19=23 the wisdom teeth start to erupt. However, not everyone has them, and sometimes, they never develop, and sometimes they do not erupt. They are unpredictable. You really should be checked by a dentist, especially if you are experiencing discomfort. You want to eliminate any future problems such as an abscess. But to answer your first question, the difference is you lose your baby teeth, but you don%26#039;t get a second chance with your adult - permanent teeth - so its very important to take good care of them.

Son teething his adult teeth???

My son lost his lower two front teeth early due to an injury. He is now almost five and his two adult teeth are coming in. I can%26#039;t keep his fingers out of his mouth, he is crying at random times and is really really cranky. now my son has Autism so he has problems telling me what is up. Is it possible for him to be teething on his adult teeth and has anyone ever experienced this and if so how did you handle it? I just feel so bad for him!!!%26#039;

Thanks so much!!!

Son teething his adult teeth???
Sorry about his teeth. I know how hard it is when your child can%26#039;t tell you what is going on. I%26#039;m also sorry that a previous answerer got on you about watching your son closer. It%26#039;s NOT that easy. things happen quickly.

If his teeth have already broken through, then usually the pain is gone. I%26#039;m thinking it probably has more to do with the sensory issues associated with autism. Maybe try teething rings or orajel.
Reply:ok well 1st watch you kid better how did he loose his theeth??

and he crys maybe because it hurts ( the new teeth growing in)... and i dont know what to say about the fact of him having his hand in his mouth!! sorry
Reply:Indeed your son can be teething and like children does they always get all itchy when they start to grow u must give him a chew toy or brush his teeth to relieve of his itchiness but i dont think your son wont have his new teeth until he reaches 7 or 8 or maybe early then that.
Reply:Yeah it%26#039;s extremely likely his adult teeth are coming in. Most kids lose their teeth when they are in kindergarten-around five. Also, lots of times if you lose a tooth before the new ones are ready, your body will compensate and grow them early. Try some numbing gel like Anbesol for his gums, as well as ice. My mom also always used to say to put whiskey on a child%26#039;s toothache, but I%26#039;ll let you take that advice for what you will. (You would just put some on your finger and rub it on.)
Reply:He is probably crying because growing in teeth early really really hurts. Make sure to go over to him and give him love when this happens.

To prevent his fingers in his mouth, there is this nail polish at like Drug Stores or Target or Walmart that smell and taste really bad, they are also used for preventing biting nails.
Reply:YES, he%26#039;s getting his adult teeth you only have two set!! %26quot;Give him some children%26#039;s Tylenol or children%26#039;s ibuprofen which ever your child%26#039;s doctor tell you to give him for a temp or use children%26#039;s oral gel. As for his fingers in his mouth dont%26#039; stress it while the teeth are growing in. Rubbing the gums probably makes them feel better. IF you have any real concerns ask his dentist, what they recommend.
Reply:Yes he is getting his adult teeth. It doesn%26#039;t matter how his baby teeth came out, once they are out the adult teeth will start moving down and coming through. Not everyone has pain when their adult teeth come in. My kids did not. Have you spoke to this dentist about this? Definitely give him Motrin for the pain. Good luck.
Reply:They do make an anbesol for babies. Try that. And he is probably in pain because adult teeth don%26#039;t usually come in this early. So he is probably feeling the same thing that babies feel when they have the first set come through. So just do everything like you would normally do with the first set coming through. I%26#039;m sure you found a way to comfort him then
Reply:yeah it hurts them. Not as bad as baby teeth but it does. Give him paracetomol
Reply:schedule an appointment with the dentist to confirm.
Reply:autistic kids are in a world of sensory where everything around them is amped way above our level (noises are louder, taste buds taste more intensly and so on)

so its natural that ANY kind of slight sensation to the mouth that he cant control and wasnt there before is really going to overwhelm him at times.

try getting redirected to something else when he starts to melt down. and maybe start back over witht the techniques you used when he was teething the first time.

maybe getting him a chewie to bite on to help keep his fingers out.

good luck to you!!

I have 2 loose adult front teeth. My dentist says it is my bite. But it is scaring me, what's up with this ?

A few months ago I noticed this. But sadly I waited until this month to ask my mom to phone the dentist and make an appointment to get these 2 loose teeth checked out. They are the bottom 2 in the front, and they are the adult teeth. The top front adult teeth grew in pretty crooked and messed up (I am getting braces in December.) My dentist looked at it and she said it is just my bite, and they are loose due to the pressure from the other teeth. And by the time the braces are in and the bite changes, the problem should stop, but like, will these two teeth become stronger and no longer loose ? Or wil they be loose forever unless I can find something that the dentist can do to like fix this ? My mom said drink a lot of juice, especially with lots of Vitamin C in it. Please help

Thanks !

I have 2 loose adult front teeth. My dentist says it is my bite. But it is scaring me, what%26#039;s up with this ?
The ligaments around the teeth are getting pounded, so they are swollen and therefore, causing looseness. Once the braces staighten things out, the swelling will go down and the teeth will tighten up. Just be aware, that most all of your teeth will be loose while they%26#039;re moving with the braces. Those will tighten up too.

RELAX!
Reply:Do NOT drink a lot of juice-it will do nothing.

You teeth will tighten do not worry.

The braces will help-make sure you tell the orthodontist about it.

Baby teeth and new adult teeth question?

when you lose your baby teeth

do your adult teeth at the front grow back slightly behind the others or where the baby tooth was please

Baby teeth and new adult teeth question?
They seem to be slightly behind, this is because 2nd teeth are bigger stronger teeth. This is why children who have a mixture of 1st and 2nd teeth look as though they have a mouth full of tombstones. The new teeth fill the gaps left by the milk teeth.
Reply:Usually around the age of 7, but not always - my partners 37 %26amp; still has two milk teeth.
Reply:If the baby teeth are still hanging on when the new ones come through then the new one is usually behind. If the baby teeth come out early and the new ones aren%26#039;t ready yet they sometimes come through a bit crooked. They usually sort themselves out if not a dentist might offer a brace at a much later date.
Reply:the baby teeth are normally lost because the adult teeth are coming through directly beneath them.

The adult tooth resorbs the roots of the baby teeth (which is why they come out without a root)

Sometimes the adult teeth are misplaced and will grow through without the baby ones coming out - making the child look a bit like a shark! The canines can often come through high up in the gum and so will come through in front of the existing baby ones.

there is no solid rule - sometimes the adult ones are placed in front of where the baby ones were and sometimes behind - sometimes they come through at an angle.

Every case is individual.

Will adult teeth be the same shape as baby teeth?

My 3 year olds teeth are protruding out and causing her to cut her lips. I don%26#039;t think this is genetic because she%26#039;s the only one with the problem, but she does still drink a bottle and gave up her constant Nuk 1 year ago (with a huge fight). My mother says her adult teeth will be normal, but others have disgareed. I can%26#039;t find any info anywhere regarding this abnormality. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you:)

Will adult teeth be the same shape as baby teeth?
They aren%26#039;t the same shape, but sucking on a nuk and having a bottle put a lot of pressure on the teeth under the gums and she will probably need braces.
Reply:My son%26#039;s teeth were fine. We did not do a binkie, he gave up the bottle @ about 12 months. my nephew on the other hand his teeth do not look normal, he sucks his thumb and did not give up the bottle until he was about 18 months and slept with it.

Puppy teeth - adult teeth???? 5 mounths?

my German shepherd puppy is five mouth old but still has puppy teeth do you know when his adult teeth will come in and his puppy ones fall out, as my friends dogs have all fallen out before they reach this age.

thanks

Puppy teeth - adult teeth???? 5 mounths?
soon, sometimes if you look you will see the adult teeth coming through and the pupy teeth still conected.let him chew on dental bones and hard toys then the baby teeth will loosen up.he will be showing a good set of chops before he is 7 to 8 mths old.
Reply:should be any time now. if he retains his puppy teeth for more than a few more weeks, consult your vet.
Reply:Usually, puppy teeth will start being replaced by adult teeth starting around 3 1/2 months. Sometimes, like in children, the baby teeth don%26#039;t fall out and will need help from a veterinarian to have them pulled to allow the adult teeth to come in and too prevent the adult teeth growing in incorrectly. Make sure you have lots of chew type toys so he can help loosen the baby teeth so they can allow the adult teeth to come in.
Reply:most dogs start the process of loosing their puppyteeth and growing in adult teeth between 4 and 8 motnhs of age. if he still has puppyteeth at the time of his neuter the vet will pull them to make room for the adult teeth, retained babyteeth is not uncommon.
Reply:awe puppies
Reply:My puppy just turmed 5 mos and she has all of her adult teeth either in or coming in. You might want to call your vet....they might want to check because they might have to pull some.
Reply:Dogs, like kids, will lose their teeth at different times. Give him until about 6-7 months old. If no teeth have come out by this time, then you may want to have him checked by a vet, just to be sure there is nothing bigger which is causing this.

Adult with baby teeth?

i still have 2 baby teeth at the age of 23. there weren%26#039;t any adult teeth to back them up so there never fell out. just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what you did when you finally had to have the baby teeth removed.

Adult with baby teeth?
HELLO,

I HAVE SOME PATIENTS WITH THIS EXACT OUTLOOK.

I TELL THEM THAT IF THESE TEETH ARE IN SOUND CONDITION JUST TO MAINTAIN THEM.

I ALSO GIVE THEM THE OPTION OF EXTRACTION AND REPLACEMENT WITH AN IMPLANT OR BRIDGE/

THE CHOICE IS THEIRS.
Reply:I%26#039;m going through the same thing and i%26#039;m 26.

No adult tooth to push out the baby tooth ...dentist told me with good brushing tooth could last 20 years bad brushing it would fall out in maybe 10...that freaked me out so i had them pull the tooth out now and i got braces to close the gap...i figured i%26#039;m at the age where it wouldn%26#039;t look totally weird to have braces than to wait til i%26#039;m older...i recommend getting it over with so you can enjoy your smile later.

3 more months left with braces..good luck
Reply:I know someone who had two places (one on each side of upper jaw) where she should have had adult teeth replacing the baby teeth. One baby tooth stayed in and now she is in her forties with it and it is solid as can be. The one on the other side came out and left a small gap there. When she applied to the Army so that they would pay for medical school, they told her that since she had only 31 teeth she did not pass their physical standards. So they rejected her and she paid her own way in medical school.
Reply:I am 45 and just lost my 2 baby canines. The cheapest way to go would be to get an acrylic partial replacing only those teeth. If you lose one first then it would be very simple to just add on the acrylic partial when you lose the next one. The drawback is that these are basically aesthetic appliances and should not be used for eating. The more costly options are metal partials and fixed bridges. If you have the money go for single implants. These are posts imbedded in your gums replacing only the tooth affected. I currently have 2. They are not cheap.

Adult Teeth Growing in behind baby teeth?

I have a five year old daughter. Her tooth on the bottom is loose, but I just noticed her adult teeth are coming through behind them. I know I have to take her to the denist but I wondered if anyone has had a similar experience?

Adult Teeth Growing in behind baby teeth?
It is perfectly normal for the 4 lower adult incisors to come up behind the baby incisors and then move forward. No intervention or wiggling is necessary. Mother Nature does the best job in this case.

You will also see that the adult incisors will usually be a bit crowded and twisted when trying to fit into this space. Again, this is normal and needs no intervention:

1. As your child grows, her jaws will widen and allow more room;

2. The back baby teeth have a combined width GREATER than the adult teeth that replace them. This will also allow room for the incisors to spread out more evenly. Seems strange, doesn%26#039;t it?

So as your child grows, any apparent crowding at this stage will often get better without any intervention. Therefore, do NOT take out lower baby canines to make room for the incisors or you will make it more difficult for the adult canines to come thru.
Reply:Yes, I had the exact same thing!! It happened to me five times, 2 on the bottom and 3 on the top. The dentist said it wasn%26#039;t that big of a deal, they were kind of loose so he just pulled them and helped them out. The tops were very loose so I just pulled them myself. My teeth grew in perfectly after the baby tooth was out, they were a little crooked so i currently have braces, but other than that there were no problems. I hope that helps, and if you need anything, please contact me about it, I%26#039;d be happy to help!!
Reply:A similar thing happened to my younger sister when she was abuot....5? But her case was an 2 EXTRA teeth behind her 2 front ones. All that had to happen was that they had to be pulled out.

At the dentist they%26#039;ll probably pull out the baby tooth (they rarely pull adult teeth as far as I know). She MIGHT need braces later on if the teeth don%26#039;t shift into place naturally.

Have a good night. :-)
Reply:i have had the same thingit is not that big of a deal.
Reply:This is VERY normal and VERY common. I see this with almost all baby teeth and adult teeth especially in the front. It is fine as long as the baby tooth is loose. Just keep wiggling it and it will come out. As long as the baby tooth doesn%26#039;t stay for another year, the adult tooth will erupt and move foward when the baby tooth is lost.

My 11 year old daughters adult teeth are splitting her baby teeth as they errupt. what should i do?

My 11 year old daughters adult teeth are errupting but not pushing out her baby teeth. the adult teeth are splittng the baby teeth but not moving them. the dentist says this is not a problem but it has been going on for a year or so and her mouth is very overcrowded.

What should we do?

it doesn%26#039;t look nice either with teeth split and adult teeth in the middle.

My 11 year old daughters adult teeth are splitting her baby teeth as they errupt. what should i do?
That%26#039;s completely normal. Don%26#039;t worry about it. The baby teeth fragments will fall out in their own time. It won%26#039;t take long. Encourage her to brush them really well to protect the adult teeth as the split baby teeth will hold more plaque
Reply:see a dentist
Reply:See a different dentist....
Reply:the same thing is happening to my sister and our dentist told us that if her baby teeth dont fall out within 3 months i believe it was then they willl need to be pulled out..she will ultimetly need braces ...sorry for your daughter..im getting them soon and ive heard they are scary!!!!
Reply:she might need to get them removed because despite what some dentists say they probably won%26#039;t fall out by themselves.
Reply:Are they wiggly at all?

If your unsatisfied with your dentist see another one! It seems like this guy wants to get rid of you!
Reply:DENTIST ALERT!

That happened to me once. I went to the dentist and got the baby teeth pulled out. If you don%26#039;t do something, your teeth get so messed up. My friend%26#039;s are.
Reply:you can go to a different dentist and ask them to do an x-ray or asked to go to a dental hospital (Eastman%26#039;s London) and they can have a look. you can go to Eastman%26#039;s in the week to see someone but i would call them first and ask to speak to one of the dentist on call. but the teeth may not come out and this can happen alot of the time.

2 Baby teeth pulled; 2 adult teeth on the way... how long until they grow in though?

Alright... I got 2 baby teeth near the front pulled out because I%26#039;m getting braces soon and 2 adult teeth were above the baby teeth in my gums, waiting to come out...

But my question is, since I know they%26#039;re going to grow in anyways, about how long does it take for adult teeth to grow in after you%26#039;ve lost baby teeth?

2 Baby teeth pulled; 2 adult teeth on the way... how long until they grow in though?
it shouldnt take long at all last year i had ten baby teeth pulled, and like maybe less to a month to a month later they were coming up!
Reply:oh. if they pulled baby teeth you probably have the same %26quot;teeth growing rate%26quot; as me.

mine took about 6 months just to feel something small and sharp coming up.
Reply:well the tooth coming the the gum is called eruption. this may varies (differ) most peoples teeth *** through (Adult) 1 to 2 to 3 months don%26#039;t worry it won%26#039;t be that long LOL i hope i helped ! Cee* Bee*

Adult teeth growing in beside baby teeth?

My 6mth old yorkiepoo Rupert, is starting to get his %26quot;big boy teeth%26quot; and on the bottom they are doubled up on each side (baby and adult side by side) Im worried and I dont want his adult teeth to grow in wonky..should I call my vet? Im making an appointment for his neutering in January...can I wait till then, and they can do it all?!

Please let me know

Thanks

Adult teeth growing in beside baby teeth?
Call the vet but also start trying to wiggle the baby teeth frequently and give your dog lots of chew toys to try and move the teeth on their own
Reply:Call your vet and ask if it can be fixed at the same time as you neuter or if he needs to go in now. They may be a bit stuck, and could cause growth problems of his adult teeth if left too long, but a vet will tell you for sure.
Reply:retaining puppy teeth is a common problem in small breeds. You should make an appt with the vet.. he may want to pull the puppy teeth while he is being neutered.

Sometimes they will fall out on their own.. but not always. If the baby teeth do not come out, it can cause the adult teeth to come in funny.

You can give him some frozen treats to try to help loosen those baby teeth in the meantime. But I would definantly still talk to the vet about it.. he will most likely want to remove any while he is already under.
Reply:my 6 month old australian shepherd is the same way!!! i always tell her she looks like a goof ball cause she has 3 extra teeth (one fell out 2 days ago.) they will fall out when they are ready. thats naturally how they grow in. sure, the vet isnt going to refuse something to make more money, but every dog ive seen that has gone from puppy to big dog their teeth grew in like that. good luck!
Reply:you definitely will want to get those baby teeth out of there.. at the clinic I work at the vets will pull the baby teeth at the time of neuter/spay.. so definitely let your vet know when you schedule the neuter that you will also need them to check for and pull all baby teeth.. if they%26#039;re not pulled and don%26#039;t fall out on their own they will cause problems later on
Reply:Make sure he has plenty of chew toys, and does lots of chewing. Nylabones are great for working out stubborn baby teeth. It%26#039;s not too late for him to work those out. My littlest Chihuahua is 7 months, and just a few weeks ago, finally lost her last 2 canines. I was getting worried was going to have to take her to have them removed. I bought her a new chicken flavored nylabone, and 3 days later, both baby teeth, that felt tightly in there before were gone!
Reply:Yes, they can neuter and remove the teeth at the same time.

The same thing happened to my Tank, Miniature Schnauzer. His vet recommended that I wait until it was time to get him fixed so that everything can be done at one time while he is under anesthesia.

Retained k9 baby teeth with no k9 adult teeth?

i%26#039;m a bit devastated b/c my 8 month old shih tzu just got his upper baby k9 teeth (2) removed even when the xrays showed that there was no adult k9 teeth.

talking with other doggy owners they have been telling me that the baby teeth didn%26#039;t have to be removed (they think that the vet is just trying to scam more money out of me)

prior surgery, i expressed this concern to the vet saying that if the xrays showed no adult teeth, then can they not pull out the baby teeth, but she said that it would be prone to infection and that the chances of no adult teeth is rare.

sigh, i just want to know, if the baby teeth were left alone, would that have been okay????? i mean, why fix something when its not broken???

i mean, my dog seems to be in more pain than when he was netuered!!! and he%26#039;s missing is most important upper fangs!!!!

PLEASE REPLY!!!!, I FEEL SO BAD FOR MY PUP....

Retained k9 baby teeth with no k9 adult teeth?
It is very unusual for there to be NO adult teeth. And retained deciduous teeth (baby teeth) often lead to all sorts of other problems including 2 teeth occupying the same space.

I once saw a dog that had an adult tooth come in behind the baby tooth and it created a huge ulcer on the roof of the dogs mouth. The dog couldn%26#039;t eat. That is an extreme example of course, but bite alignments can cause trouble chewing and certainly infection because often the retained tooth is pushing against something that it shouldn%26#039;t, like the gums or another tooth, which then leads to infection.

You did the right thing. Better to have them removed now then having have them removed later when he already has an infection or a major overcrowding problem.

I wonder if perhaps the adult teeth were not on the xray simply because the teeth were in a slightly awkward location due to the fact that the baby teeth were still in place(the adult teeth can not erupt normally is there is already another tooth in its place). Or is it possible that somehow the adult teeth had already come in and the baby teeth were just extra and already overcrowding?

Please don%26#039;t worry, you did the right thing, and you are sparing your puppy a bigger and more painful problem later. Your veterinarian was making the best suggestion for your pet%26#039;s long term health. If you are really in doubt- schedule a 2nd opinion with another vet to put your mind at ease.

I%26#039;ve attached some links with more information about deciduous teeth and dental care for dogs.
Reply:The baby teeth really needed to come out regardless of the fact that there are adult teeth or not. You did do the right thing. I don%26#039;t believe you were scammed or ripped off. And he isn%26#039;t in more pain than when he was neutered. Ever had a tooth pulled? It%26#039;s not that bad.
Reply:It was the right thing to pull those baby teeth. Just because they aren%26#039;t showing on x-ray doesn%26#039;t mean that they aren%26#039;t there. IT is very rare for them to not have some adult K9%26#039;s coming in later. he will be fine and I assure you that he should get those teeth. Those baby teeth would have either came out anyway, or they would have caused him a lot of trouble with ear infections, mouth infections, etc. He will be fine.

Adult teeth coming in behind baby teeth?

My son who just turned 8 in Nov came and showed me his first loose tooth he has adult teeth coming in behind the bottom front teeth does he need to see a dentist and have the baby teeth removed%26gt;?

Adult teeth coming in behind baby teeth?
I think it depends on how the adult teeth are forming. If the baby teeth are getting in the way and making the adult teeth not straight then they might have to do some pulling. I would call your dentist and just ask them what you should do, either wait till the baby teeth fall out or make an apointment.
Reply:definately make an appt. w/ the dentist. That happened to me as a child and my mom did not take me,and now I have an upper tooth that kind of sticks out.
Reply:yes see a dentist .but sometimes a dentist will leave the baby teeth in and eventually, the bigger will push out the baby ones, dentists don, like to take out these teeth.
Reply:The baby teeth will fall out as the adult teeth push through. Normal for children of that age. Didn%26#039;t you have baby teeth????
Reply:My experience would say it%26#039;s normal. Here is an on-line dentist%26#039;s answer. His website is below.

Answer

Nothing to worry about here. This is a very common condition.

When the primary teeth are lost, the tongue will put the permanent teeth into their correct position. Whether or not you want to hasten the loss of the primary teeth is a decision between you and a dentist. Nothing I can help with at this distance. However, i can assure you that no matter how strange it may look, everything will work out well, and there is no rush to have anything done.

Dr. Moss
Reply:ya its happend to me b4 wen i was a kid u just go to the dentist and get them pulled out its
Reply:You COULD get the dentist to pull it but, if it%26#039;s already loose, just encourage your son to wiggle it just a little bit (haha reminds me of a song... anyway....) every day while he%26#039;s watching tv or whatever. It will come out and there shouldn%26#039;t be any problems. The adult tooth will come down in its place. It%26#039;s a very simple procedure to get it taken out by the dentist, but s/he would still have to freeze it and would still cost the same as a regular extraction.
Reply:Yes, if he can%26#039;t get it out on his own.

The permanent teeth are supposed to help push the baby teeth out. It%26#039;s not an emergency situation, but try to get him to the dentist soon.

Adult teeth stopped growing mid-way. Still have several baby teeth...?

I am 17 and only 8 of my teeth are adult teeth. It is possible these are my only set and I wont outgrow them, but 2 of my adult teeth (towards the back) started growing but stopped and halfway and have shown no sign of wobbling or coming out for the past three years. Does anyone know why they just stopped? I would have them pulled out but I%26#039;m worried that they may not grow fully ever.

Adult teeth stopped growing mid-way. Still have several baby teeth...?
Nothing to stress over!! Very common!

Many people have this problem. You are more mature than your mouth. Also lots of people have only one set of teeth or a few of each as in your case.

If the baby teeth are ment to come out the larger teeth will force them out or possibly grow in at an odd angle. I would go and have some x-rays done to see where there are big teeth and where there may not be any. If you need any of the baby teeth to come out they can pull them for you or at least tell you which ones to start wiggling!

Good luck to you!!
Reply:i still have some of my baby teeth too! if they aren%26#039;t causing a problem don%26#039;t stress over it?

Child has Adult Teeth Showing but Only One tooth is Loose. OK?

Hello

My child has an adult tooth coming through in the back of his baby teeth (bottom front tooth), One of his baby teeth is loose. Is this normal for the adult tooth to not be directly underneath the baby teeth?

Child has Adult Teeth Showing but Only One tooth is Loose. OK?
yes its very normal. i%26#039;d go see a dentist or someone before it completely grows in (unless it already has) because once it fully grows, it%26#039;ll stay crooked.
Reply:Well sometimes the other tooth can push out the baby teeth, but in my case my baby teeth didn%26#039;t want to budge so i had to have them pulled. I would suggest taking them to the dentist because even if the adult teeth push the baby teeth out there could be a lot of damage done, and by that I mean that it might mean you need to get them braces to fix thier teeth or have braces for longer.

My daughter's adult teeth are coming in behind her baby teeth. What to do?

My daughter is 5 1/2. Almost a year ago her front two bottom adult teeth came up behind her baby teeth. After 6 months, when the baby teeth hadn%26#039;t loosened much the dentist finally pulled the baby teeth. I asked if this would happen with her other teeth and he said %26quot;No.%26quot;. Well now the bottom two teeth on the other sides are coming up behind the baby teeth. I%26#039;m concerned, also, because she has a small mouth and there seems like there%26#039;s going to be a lot of crowding. The adult teeth are just now erupting. Do I make an appointment or wait awhile??? Thanks for any advice.

My daughter%26#039;s adult teeth are coming in behind her baby teeth. What to do?
Take her to the dentist because his advice is the best!
Reply:Let them keep growing. That happened to me a couple of times. Don%26#039;t worry the baby tooth will just fall out. :)

Hope that helped!
Reply:Make an appointment, if they do grow in, and cause a problem, you may find yourself paying thousands of $ in orthodontic fixtures.

Make an appointment very soon, your dentist%26#039;s office should be open tomorrow, call then.

hope this helps.
Reply:It wouldn%26#039;t be right to receive advice from stranger cause u never know.i would rather say take your daughter to the doctor make sure everything is alright with ur daughter and growing healthy to be a big strong gurl. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Usually, the new tooth will push the baby tooth and roots loose. Sometimes the roots of the baby tooth are just too

long for this to happen. In this case, consult with your dentist, and if necessary get a second opinion if for no other reason to put your mind at rest on getting the proper attention/care for the child.
Reply:wait awhile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That happend to all of my teeth.

LET THEM GROW!!!!! but later on if they are full grown then yank those suckers out!!!! But chances are she will have crooked teeth
Reply:This has happend to me a cupple of times before. Just wait a while the baby teeth will fall out and the adult tooth will move into the place of the baby tooth was in. If she gets a more then i would take her to tha dentist and take there advice.
Reply:This happened to me quite a few times when I was young. Eventually the adult teeth will loosen the baby teeth and they will fall out. This happened to me around age 12 though, so I%26#039;d definitely consult your dentist as to why this is happening at such a young age.

Adult teeth grew over baby teeth?

I%26#039;m not sure how to describe which teeth i%26#039;m talking about. Not the the teeth directly next to the 2 front ones, but the teeth next to those. So the teeth that are 2 away from the front one%26#039;s. Anyway, my adult teeth teeth came in on these two teeth before my baby teeth had fallen out. One of my baby teeth fell out pretty soon after but the other one never fell out so the dentist had to pull it. My teeth have been this way for years but i%26#039;m worried that since the teeth did not grow in how they%26#039;re supposed to does that mean that they aren%26#039;t stable and will not last as long as they should?

Adult teeth grew over baby teeth?
well i am pretty sure that when you are older they should grow in, i hardly know what you are talking about but im thinking...

well...you should tell a doctor or something...cause it

could be VERY serious,

well i hope everything goes alright..

just take my advice..i think i know what you%26#039;r talking about..
Reply:my son had the same prob with one of his. after the baby tooth finally fell out th e adult one moved into position some. you might need braces but other than that you should be fine

How can i tell baby teeth from adult teeth?

i am 11 yrs old, and i have this one loose tooth it%26#039;s a molar. i%26#039;m not sure if it%26#039;s a baby tooth or an adult tooth. i showed my baby sitter (16 yrs old, just to let u know) before and she said it%26#039;s most likely a baby tooth because an adult tooth wouldn%26#039;t be loose unless of an accident, and there%26#039;s no bruise on my face. though i%26#039;m still kinda worried that there%26#039;s a possiblity it may be an adult tooth...i won%26#039;t be relieved of it until i get it clarified for sure that it%26#039;s a baby tooth, not an adult tooth. my next dental appointment is on June 26, but i want to know before then. can you tell me a way i can tell baby teeth between adult teeth just by looking in the mirror or something? i heard somewhere that adult teeth have more roots and stuff above them, and i tried comparing the roots and stuff above my loose teeth with my teeth i know are adult teeth, but i can%26#039;t tell. please help me, needing help from ppl with experience, ppl with just plain knowledge, and of course dentists. -thanks

How can i tell baby teeth from adult teeth?
First of all, if it%26#039;s really loose and you%26#039;re 11, it%26#039;s most likely a baby tooth. You are at the right age to be losing your baby molars. You probably only have 4 adult molars at the very back of your mouth (two on the bottom, two on top). Any molar that is loose in front of those is a baby tooth.
Reply:adult teeth are bigger.
Reply:ask a dentist
Reply:no idea!
Reply:listen to your sitter, sounds like she knows what she is talking about.
Reply:ur 11 and u have a babysitter?!! hahahaha, go to the dentist he%26#039;ll tell you
Reply:it sounds like a baby tooth

if most your teeth are grown up teeth it seems smaller, than its a baby tooth for sure
Reply:baby teeth smaller
Reply:mind over matter buddy

just start thinking it%26#039;s a baby tooth and nothing bad should happen...
Reply:have you ever lost that tooth before? if you have, then it%26#039;s an adult tooth. but since you%26#039;re only 11, it%26#039;s unlikely to have lost it. a lot of adults still have their baby molars because i guess they don%26#039;t really need to come out sometimes. go to the dentist if you%26#039;re that worried about it and see if it%26#039;s an adult tooth or baby tooth.
Reply:Their should be a visible size difference. Adult teeth are usually bigger and baby teeth smaller.
Reply:well adult teeth are bigger but baby teeth can still be big but your tooth should start to get loose or feel like it hurts a bit just so it can make room for the adult teeth hope this helps =)
Reply:Call your family%26#039;s dentist if you%26#039;re worried.
Reply:i%26#039;ve heard that the adult tooth is alot bigger

but idk
Reply:if u lost the tooth b4, then its an adult tooth. if its the same one from when u were a baby, it%26#039;ll come out.
Reply:Hello,

I am 12 years old, and I just want to tell you that I feel your worry. I%26#039;ve experienced this before. Adult teeth are usually bigger. I want to ask you though, have you lost any molars yet at all? If you don%26#039;t know, here is some extra info.

Check out this website

http://www.ada.org/public/topics/tooth_e...

You will also know if it is a baby or adult tooth in a week or two because you will see if the new tooth is poking up or not. Feel your gum to see if you can feel anything poking through. I am also sure that your parent or guardian could call your dentist to have them check on it if you are that worried.

Hope this helped
Reply:There aren%26#039;t any baby molars. What you%26#039;ve got is a loose adult tooth.

It might just be because of your diet or the state of your gums, though. You don%26#039;t have to have an injury for the tooth to be loose.
Reply:Hey, I wouldn%26#039;t worry much about this, it sounds like you are gonna get your twelve-year molars in soon...I am NOT a dentist, but I am a med student, and a Mom..and all of my kids except for one have been through this. Perhaps if you think back to all

your tooth fairy visits, you will remember which teeth you put under your pillow for her. .. betcha I%26#039;m right!
Reply:Is the gum area red or swelled by that tooth? If so you more then likely have an adult tooth coming up.

Look at your molar then your baby sitters. Her molar should be an adult molar and larger.

Hope this puts your mind at ease for tonight..

No Adult teeth!!!?

Ok....i%26#039;m 29 now and I was born with no adult teeth. So teeth which i had removed as a child there are now just gum. I was told at 25 that I HAVE no adult teeth, even though my Wisdom teeth grew through. I%26#039;ve had them removed too. Now i have no top or bottom back (chewing) teeth. All the teeth in my mouth now are still my milk teeth.

My friend suggested to me today I may have what%26#039;s called crumbling of the teeth?

Has anyone heard of this? Can i do anything to help my teeth last aslong as possible?

I have always looked after my teeth, brushing everyday and flossing. I use toothpaste for sensitive teeth as i%26#039;ve always had problems with hot and cold. I%26#039;ve always suffered with my teeth.

Am i lacking in something? I only have 13 teeth left in my mouth and im currently waiting to see my dentist but i cant get an earlier appointment, i%26#039;ve tried. I take Vit C, Zinc and Iron tablets everyday. I always eat properly and drink plenty of fluids.

No Adult teeth!!!?
Baby teeth eventually are going to fall out and it is unknown when yours will all fall out.

Sounds like you are doing everything in your power to keep them healthy and clean and in your mouth.

What is more disturbing is why you are born without these adult teeth--- check w/your medical doctor. There are genetic defects that cause this to happen and you should have all the facts in front of you so that you are also aware of other areas of your body that might be affected by this genetic disorder.

Sorry to hear that you have had your wisdom teeth extracted as your might have been able to have these teeth as the anchors that hold onto your dental partials, dentures and or implant dentures.

At this point-- find a comprehensive dentist that can rebuild your smile with permanent teeth that you can chew your food with properly-- as this is important for your nutrition.
Reply:Not to be discouraging but i think you may be fighting a losing battle. Deciduous teeth are only evolved to survive in the mouth for a period of years and so won%26#039;t last as long as permanent teeth. Keep up looking after them and at least you can make them last longer than they otherwise would. After that you could always try implants with a denture which would look natural enough and should work ok.
Reply:I didn%26#039;t have any adult teeth either. As I loose my teeth, they are baby teeth. All the top ones are gone now, I have 8 left on the bottom front, as of tomorrow I will have 7 left. Yep they are pulling one tomorrow. I do wear an upper full plate and that is it. I did wear a partial on the lower but will never do that again or even suggest any body to get one, as they will wear out the teeth that they are connected to. Good luck with yours, I am 50.
Reply:My 13 year old daughter was born without one of her adult teeth. She is hanging on to the baby tooth that is still there as carefully as she can as it is a front tooth. Don%26#039;t really have the answers for you, just wanted you to know there are other people out there that deal with that as well.

Adult with 16 Baby Teeth - No Widsom Teeth Yet - 23 Years Old - Any Connection? Normal?

As a child I was a bit older than the rest of the student in my class to lose my first baby tooth. I was 6, not too unusual, but keep reading.

I was 11 the last time I lost a baby tooth. It was one next to my K9 teeth. All my teeth from my K9 teeth back are still baby teeth (exception of the 12 year molars.)

I have been going to the dentist every 6 months since I was 12. Never had a cavity. I also had braces.

Several years ago I had an full mouth X-Ray and the adult teeth showed up on it below my gum. Also on the X-Ray it showed my 3 wisdom teeth (1 missing which is common). One is impacted, two others were growing fine. The orthodontist said they would be coming in %26quot;soon%26quot;. That was five years ago.

I%26#039;m now 23, more baby teeth in my mouth than adult one, and three missing wisdom teeth.

Could this all in connected? Late adult teeth grown and late wisdom teeth growth.

Also, if I were to lose one of the baby teeth for whatever reason, would it still be replaced with an adult one?

Adult with 16 Baby Teeth - No Widsom Teeth Yet - 23 Years Old - Any Connection? Normal?
yes i am nearly postive the baby teeth would be replaced with adult teeth.

i reccomend asking a Dentist about it though. its a rather strange situation.

here is what i found:

As you approach your late teens your jawbone has grown to nearly its adult size. Often the adult size is still not large enough to accommodate the developing wisdom teeth. In this case, your teeth become trapped in the bone and grow wherever they can. As the tooth grows, it may remain completely covered by bone or may partially break through the gum exposing the crown (or chewing surface) of the tooth. As the tooth continues to develop, so do the roots associated with the tooth. The tooth%26#039;s roots hold the tooth in place. They may become misshapen or extend dangerously close to the nerve located in the jaw or to a sinus cavity.

Reply:Perhaps you are one of the lucky people who will never grow up. SOunds like you have been living a very healthy lifestyle so far. I would check with an orthodontist to find out if everything is going as planned. Good luck
Reply:THERE IS A GENETIC CONDITION IN WICH THE ADULT TEETH ARE NEVR EVER FORMED.

SINCE THE ORTHODONTIST YOU SAW DID SAY THE TEETH WOULD COME IN SOON THE TEETH CAN BE VERY LATE IN COMING IN.

THE BABY TEETH ARE ONLY REPLACED WITH ADULT TEETH. I WOULD GET UPDATED X-RAYS AND ANOTHER OPINION.
Reply:you need to take an OPG or panoramic X ray to see where your permanent teeth is, if it is present or absent?

Congenital deformities can cause these. Need to go for implants or dentures if permanent teeth not present.
